Try the delicious shrimp at home
Seafood nowadays is so popular with people all across the world. You will have an idea of the popularity of the seafood if you just explore the web a little. You are sure to come across numerous seafood recipes. If you access the online archives that are compiled by the popular chefs all across the world along with the various cooking schools, you are sure to get your hands into a vast range of delicious seafood recipes. How about trying some shrimp recipes for a change of taste?
Have you ever tried the coconut shrimp recipes? Here is one delicious coconut shrimp recipe for you to try at home:
Coconut beer batter with fried shrimp and the pineapple salsa
Ingredients: Eggs- 2 numbers All purpose flour- 1 and 3/4th cups Beer- 3/4th cups Baking powder- 1 tablespoon Shrimps- 2 pounds, medium sized and they must be peeled and the veins must be removed. Coconut oil- as much required Grated coconut- 3 cups
The seasoning Mixture: Cayenne pepper- 1 tablespoon Salt- 2 and ¼ teaspoon Sweet paprika- 1 and ½ teaspoons Black pepper- 1 and ½ teaspoons Garlic powder- 1 and ¼ teaspoon Onion powder- ¾ teaspoon Dried thyme- ¾ teaspoon Dried oregano- ¾ teaspoon
Recipe- Now combine all the ingredients of the seasoning mix and put them in a bowl and set them aside.
Now mix around 1 and ¼ cups of the flour along with 2 teaspoons of seasoning mix, eggs, beer and the baking powder in a big bowl. Batter the mixture until it is smooth. Use up the rest of the flour along with 1 and ½ teaspoons of the seasoning mix and keep it aside. Take another bowl and place the coconut in it.
Sprinkle the rest of the seasoning mix on both sides of the remaining seasoning. Now hold the shrimp by its tail and put it in the mixture of flour. Shake off the excess flour. Dip it in the batter and again drip off the excess batter. Now coat each of the shrimps with the coconut and then place them on the baking sheet.
Heat the baking dish to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Drop all the shrimps into hot and boiling oil and then cook them until they change colours into good old golden brown. Fry one side of the shrimp for 1 and ½ minutes. Once they are done, dry them on the paper towels and serve them hot.
You might also lay these shrimps on huge lettuce leaves and serve them with the pineapple salsa dip. You can also garnish the shrimps with orange, lime wedges or lemon.
The pineapple dip- Chop 1 cup of fresh pineapples Chop 1/3 cup of Red onion and ¼ cup of fresh cilantro. Use ¼ cup of pineapple preserves Take 1 and ½ tablespoons of lime juice. Chop 1 tablespoon of fresh jalapeno chilli Use ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper. Put all these ingredients in a bowl and toss them gently. Your pineapple dip is ready! Try this delicious seafood recipe at home and enjoy.
